June - what a month - filled with graduations, weddings, warm weather and anticipation!  Do you remembers you younger years - before that first job?  How many of you knew even then that you had an entrepreneurial streak?  I recall lemonade stands, garage concerts with 2 chord songs on my guitar and flyer deliveries at a penny a piece for the community association.  How many of you  started your first small business on summer vacation?  Tell us your story!

The cement steps to the Cathedral were white hot with summer heat, but immediately upon entry, I felt the cool air on my skin.  The tall stone walls were pierced by colourful, stained glass windows, and the air was charged with excitement.   130 Graduates lined the seats in front of me - and I waved as my 20 year old daughter turned around - her gown swishing and her mortarboard slipping sideways on her head.  Do you get the picture?

This was the scene of a special graduation.  These were not high school aged students.  The graduates were from every walk of society.  Some were 40 years old with children, and some were single Moms.  Some were immigrants and others were street kids - who had found new hope.

The song "I hope you dance" was playing and as soon the first line was sung "I hope you never lose your sense of wonder", I began to cry.

I began to understand what this day was all about.  This was a high school diploma graduation ceremony for the truly successful among us. These graduates had at one time in their lives dropped out of school - for whatever reason - they did not graduate with their peers.  Some lost their way, many lost their hope.  And today was the celebration of hope found and achievement.

I was truly touched beyond words as each man and woman received their diploma.  Some had completed the diploma through a special program - some through at home study.  What was really significant though was that each one of them had at one time lost hope - and had found it again - and had set goals for themselves and achieved them.   It was inspiring for me to watch them and listen as they planned for their futures. 

These graduates deserve our admiration, respect and encouragement.  They are shining examples of determination despite the odds.

(makes my accomplishments pale in comparison - and my challenges seem small)

#3 Follow-up and follow-through

You have heard it many many times before - 80% of your profits will come from 20% of your clients.   The question is ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT?  Are you keeping in contact with your clients? 

People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. Even if you  do not hear back from your clients after you send them an email, a letter, a card or make a phone call to them, letting them know how much you care is so very important. You need to stay in front of your audience!

How should you keep in contact with them?

• Emails (use templates)
• Newsletters (e-news and hard copies)
• Snail Mail (thank you cards, invitations)
• Phone calls - personal and follow up
• Surveys – (e-surveys are fastest)
• Reminders – use all the above

We thought we better let you know what we have cooking! As a result of the survey we conducted - we found that those business owners who have had some sort of coaching are 50% more likely to become profitable.  I have always known this - and have seen it in the business owners I have coached.  

Certified Coaching Program

As a result we have put together a certified business coaching program - to certify business coaches who are able to help you grow your business. These coaches will have specific training in marketing, strategic planning, and will be specially trained to help small business.

A program to grow your business

As of September - in selected areas, we will be rolling out the following program:

Roar Boards
Members and Non-Members will be able to participate in a program designed especially for measurable business growth.  Once a month, from 8 am to 12 pm there will be a Roar Board Meeting, facilitated by a Certified RW Coach. This board will have a maximum of 8 members, and will receive a 120 minute training session on everything from marketing to business structure.  After a short break - there will be a 120 minute group brainstorming/peer mentoring/specific problem solving session where each participant can bring their issues to the table in a safe and supportive environment.  The commitment for the business owner is 12 months.  The cost for members will be $150 a month.  (non-members add $75.00 a month) These are powerful growth sessions. We guarantee you will never be the same after you participate in these sessions.

The Results

The result is business growth.  Plain and simple. Measurable, sustainable growth.  You will get the information you need from a trusted source using proven strategies.

Optional Services

In addition to these sessions our members will also be able to access affordable one on one coaching - and here are the possibilities that will be available:

• Roar Board - $150.00  month (non-memners $225.00)
• One session Individual Coaching - $150.00  month (non-members $225.00)
• Roar Board + Coaching - $300.00 a month (non-members $450.00)
• Intensive one on one (2 sessions ) coaching - $300.00 a month (non-members $450.00)

We will begin registration for these services August 1st - so hang on to your hat!  If you are SERIOUS about learning how to get your bushiness making MORE for you - then do not miss this opportunity.  Each board is LIMITED to 8 participants.

We put a call out several weeks ago for coaches and business consultants who were interested in becoming a certified RW Coach. These will be the coaches we certify to run the Roar Boards and to also provide coaching for our members.  There is a structured compensation plan that could provide a coach with a full time income. 

Our first certification program will take place the first week in September - and the applicants will be chosen by application only.  If you are interested and have the qualifications listed below - please email us for an application.

Pre-Qualification for Coaching Certification

Applicants should have the following skills:

• Ability to speak in public
• Group Facilitation Skills
• Lifelong learner
• Self Management skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to make decisions with little supervision
• 5 years as an entrepreneur
• Able to travel
• Good attitude
• Ability to work within a set program
• 5 work related references
