Dear Roaring Woman Reader,
Although
there is a lot in today's newsletter about time management,
I would like to say that it is not what we do that makes a
difference in the world - it is who we are.
It has taken me many years to realize that in just 'being'
, I have value.
That
being said - just 'being' doesn't always pay the bills!
So in an effort to give you more time to 'be' I have
offered several ideas and a workshop
( The
Anti-Resolution Workshop ) to help you
be more effective in the time you work so you can have
more time off - to just BE!
Twenty-ten
- 2010 (that's what I am calling it any way!)
will be a
great year for all of us. In
the next 12 months you will see some fantastic benefits
coming your way. And looky-looky! Kootenay
Region's first meeting will be January 21st!

For
many of us - the web is getting more complicated all
the time - so we aim to fix that for you. By
December 31st 2010 we will have your profiles set so that
you can display your blogs, facebook feeds, twitter, youtube
and any or all of the social networking feeds you want - right
on your profile page. (all neat and tidy) You
will be able to log in ONCE and update it all in one place!
And...
what if you could run your virtual office from your profile?
Perhaps send out preformatted and branded newsletters or
survey from your virtual office? Maybe access some simple
accounting software and other resources?
So we are going to KISS
(keep it so simple) the web site!
Finally
we have revamped our mission statement and vision - but we
will send you more on that next week. For now - Have
a very restful holiday season!
And
for those who believe in Santa Claus - tell him I have been
extra good this year!
:)
|
Remember
- Every second holds in it an opportunity for us to make the
world a better place - but we cannot achieve this by DOING.
We achieve this by BEING.

| Can
you see the ripple? |
When
you look at things differently – the things you look
at change.
– Wayne Dyer
Last
week I was speaking with a woman who was questioning the cost
of a business service. She remarked that her business seemed
to be like one great big money pit – a deep hole where
‘who knows where the money goes?’
Later
in the day I was speaking with a very successful business
owner who was heading out on another training course –
the eighth that year. He was laughing as he said that he had
spent more money this past year on training than he had made
- but he knew that the slow times when there was less business
- that he had time to invest in more education.
What
a contrast! It took me several minutes to think about the
difference in attitudes towards their businesses. The interesting
thing was that in this case, there was more demand for the
woman’s business than for the man’s business –
yet she saw her business as not having much value and he saw
his as having enough value that he knew he had to invest in
it!

| Time
- a gift for the present. |
One
of the greatest gifts that I have received lately was that
of recognizing
the value of time.
Oh
yeah sure, I get a lot done. In fact I am one of those chronic
‘schedule too much’ people who makes a list three
pages long and then when I look at it become overwhelmed with
all that I have to do and then sets out feverishly to get
it all done – only to start again tomorrow.
When
I said I had received the gift of recognizing the value of
time – it was in a much different context.
People
often marvel at how much I get done. The truth was –
I never stopped except to eat, sleep and well - you know…..
( I do have four children!)
Time
is one of those things that once it is used up – never
comes back – and so I always set out to use it efficiently.
What I did not realize was that I
– yes me – I need time with myself. I needed the
time to reflect,
the time to care for myself and time to listen to my inner
voice.

| Don't
set goals this year - make a plan! |
I get very discouraged when I hear people
say "I am not going to make any new year's resolutions
this year - I never keep them anyway!"
That
kind of thinking is like keeping a car parked in the driveway
- looking out at it longingly - and then complaining that
you never go anywhere!
We
all have so much more ability within ourselves than we ever
tap into. The reason most of us give up is because we
do not have the tools we need to turn the
idea or dream into reality.
This
year, I encourage you to make a plan instead of making "New
Year's Resolutions". Decide on one thing you want
and then make a step by step plan on how you will do it.
I
use a sheet that I developed that keeps me on track and helps
me to make the changes I want in my life. Here is
a picture of what the planning page looks like:

|
This
sheet is infallible.
It is great for little plans or long term plans.
So
if you are game for putting even one small change into your life
or planning some growth for your business - and you want to learn
how you can tap into the abilities that you have - and GROW this
year instead of just thinking about it - then spend $15.95 for members
and $25.95 for non-members and attend this one hour workshop webinar
where you can learn HOW to set a plan and implement it!
No
more resolutions. Just results! And don't worry
- you don't have to go anywhere or get dressed up for this webinar.
Stay in your PJ's and have a nice cup of tea handy. You are
going to love this!
Mandie
Crawford will be facilitating the online workshop. Register
for the workshop here
11:30
EST, 9:30 MTN and 8:30 PAC. (Don't worry - you will be done
in lots of time for your celebrations!) |

January 27th, 28th and 29th
"On
Tuesday, I submitted the H1N1 Virus article (press release)
to a bunch of newspapers in the greater Vancouver/lower
Mainland area.
Later that day, I got an email from one of them, asking
if I had a web site. I sent them the information.
The next business day, I got another email from them,
saying they had run my press release as an article and wanted
to know if I would like to be a regular columnist for them.
I had sent releases before, but
never had any luck. Thanks for all you taught me Mandie.
