Dear Roaring Women
For those of you have talked to me over the summer -
I have adopted the saying "I am up to my eyes in alligators"!
It has been busy - and I have been busy with all kinds
of administrative challenges - and wondered when will
it all end? So thank you to Monica for the
picture you see below - which says it all!

So - are
you up to you eyes in alligators? (utyeia) Well I have
learned something very interesting. If you are not
'utyeia' chances are your business is not growing as it
should! I have learned - if it is not one thing it is another
- so to speak. Last year I was solving much different
problems than I am solving this year. And two years ago
we were at another place again.
As we have
growth spurts there will be different issues that will
challenge you about your business. And until you solve
an issue - you guessed it - that issue will come back to bite
you over and over! So if you are 'utyeia' - be grateful
- your business is growing!
Recurring Issues that Hamper Business
Growth
There are
two reccurring issues that I see that most businesses
have. One is their inability to contact or keep in touch
with their current or past clients because they have NO
DATA BASE - or a poor data base. ( you will
hear that word over and over in the next few months)
I
It is much
easier to keep a client or get a client to buy a second time
when you supply great products and services than it is to get
a new one. You can use your data base to
send out newsletters, letters, cards,
thank-you coupons, phone calls, invite to customer
appreciation events and announce new products or refer another
great business! (Answer our survey
question on newsletters)
The next
issue many have is that they do not know how to network
effectively - or they don't network at all!
FACT: WORD OF MOUTH ADVERTISING is 50 x more
effective than any kind of advertising. And the best
way to get referred - is to be OUT THERE - getting
noticed.
Take a

people are NOT doing. These are the things that will
get them noticed - and referred. So if word of
mouth advertising is more effective by far than any other sort
of advertising what do you NEED to do?Ask how
you can help refer another
- Ask people to refer you
- Send thank you's and gifts to those who do refer
you
- Give away great information - with your coupon
attached
- submit articles to the web and print
publications
- Get noticed - give away things at events
- Volunteer
- Win Friends by helping out - pay it forward
- Speak at events
