Kathy Buchko
Dream Jobs and the Prime of Mrs. Buchko
Kathy Buchko launched into a description of the Bios Life™ Company and the great results she’s experienced with their products before we had a chance to talk about her own background – she’s just that impressed with the products. When we do get back to Kathy, it becomes clear that she was living a very full life even before she set out on her new venture.

Kathy began her professional life with a degree in Biochemical Technology. She put her academic training to work at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Immunology before landing her dream job in cancer research. Kathy’s integrity meant that she had to leave the position when it became clear that precious research dollars would have to be used to further her training – training that she knew would be short-lived since she would be moving to the Interlake soon after her wedding.

Over the years Kathy worked as office receptionist and bookkeeper with the family construction business while raising their family and maintaining her many interests. Ukrainian dance troupes looked better (and maybe even danced better) because Kathy was there to research and produce their costumes, the family garden flourished under her green thumb, weddings were planned and all was documented with Kathy’s ever-present camera.

The beautiful Interlake must have had a profound impact on Kathy’s family. They now count an environmental engineer and two landscape architects in their ranks.

Retirement and an empty nest held little appeal for Kathy, so she turned her attention back to her many interests and found a position with the Rainbow Stage. The outdoor theatre group happily used both her creative and administrative talents. It was enjoyable work, but it kept her tied to the office and Kathy realized she was at a point in her life when she wanted to have a flexible schedule and work on her own terms.

Kathy took stock of her options and went to a franchise show in Toronto to research entrepreneur possibilities. Her early background in biochemistry seemed to be calling, so she narrowed things down to health and wellness products. There were many to choose from, but the more she researched The Bios Life™ Company, and in particular their healthy heart products, the more intrigued she became. Her own father died of a heart attack at age 42 so Kathy knows how dramatically things can change for a family when heart disease enters the picture.

When Kathy’s husband developed angina symptoms she quickly put him on Bios Life™ and Cellular Essentials. Within four days he lost the symptoms with the happy side effects of weight loss and increased energy. When her brother heard about the results he decided he wanted to lose weight. He opted for Bios Life™ Slim and lost enough inches in two and a half weeks to look like a spokesperson for a weight-loss franchise.

You know that the products are to a high standard when they can proudly proclaim to be one of only four companies in the world who are approved for use by Olympic athletes. The company mandate is to aide in health, not compromise it.

As Kathy says, “Our responsibility to ourselves is to maintain our health. The pharmaceutical companies are treating sickness, not wellness. When we opt for a prescription without looking at other options it’s like joining the ants marching over the cliff to the pharmaceutical trap. There is a time and a place for medicine – but isn’t it better to stay healthy so that you don’t end up needing it in the first place?”

The company is dedicated to researching and developing more alternatives to the prescriptive route. Their latest research highlights the importance of a 16 kDa protein hormone called leptin. This powerhouse is the way your fat stores speak to your brain. With that conversation your brain knows how much energy is available and what do with it. Leptin has been shown to play significant roles in heart disease, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, autoimmune diseases, reproductive disorders and perhaps even the rate of aging.

It’s no wonder Kathy gravitated toward the Bios Life™ booth in Toronto. With this product line she has come back full circle to her original dream job of promoting health and wellness.

The added bonus for Kathy is the strong support network for both the product line and business opportunities. “There are so many jobs where you’re in conflict,” she says. “With this company everyone is helping each other so it’s an emotionally healthy environment. I’m learning how to network even as I learn more about the line. For instance, I was curious as to why they didn’t sell the product in health stores. It happens to be a service issue. We want you to have the items that will give you the best benefits. In a store it is hit or miss as to whether staff will be knowledgeable about the products.”

It’s clear that Kathy is impressed with the caliber of resources available to associates. “We have international weekly conference calls and all questions are welcome. Dr. Pat Glover sits in on the calls to give a medical perspective to our questions. We also have access to people such as Darlene Long and Burma Hicks who have at least 20 years experience with natural health products. Research papers are regularly made available to us, and with the large number of associates in the medical profession I feel confident that any question can be answered.”

Give Kathy a call and find out more about these cutting-edge products and the healthy possibilities in store for you. If you’ve thought about direct marketing, Kathy will be happy to help you get started with this fantastic company. Who knows, it might just turn out to be your dream job too. If you’re in town she may even make you a few traditional Ukrainian dishes to go with your Bios Life™ products.
