“Live, Faith, Hope”. These are the three tenets by which Lianna Jansen of P3 Events operates. P3 stands for People, Passion, and Promotions. According to Lianna, it is the mission of P3 Events to “bring out the passion of people” when they experience one of her wonderful promotional events. Lianna’s ability to empassion others arose from the positive process of discovering her own passions. She is a prime example of how living her passions, with faith in herself and hope for the future, has significantly enhanced the present.
As a child in Kamloops, British Columbia, Lianna’s genuine empathy for others, nurturing capabilities, and encouraging nature shone through. Her cheerful and sunny disposition endeared her to her family and friends, as she fulfilled her life goal “to make others feel good about themselves”. No matter what the occasion, optimistic Lianna found a reason to celebrate. Even though she was highly active in track, volleyball, soccer, basketball and “Athlete of the Year”, teenager Lianna enjoyed organizing parties, celebrations, and events for her social circle. “School’s out; let’s have a party!” Lianna was often heard to exclaim.
From her first job at McDonald’s which she recounts with happiness to her employment with the Elizabeth Fry Society, the Boys and Girls Club of Canada and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Lianna ensured that every person whose life she touched was improved. In these positions, Lianna learned how to work with a diverse group of personalities and honed her intuitive skills. She also simultaneously enhanced her practical skills by earning a Social Service Certificate, and a Lifeskills Coaching Certificate, enabling Lianna to further ameliorate the lives of her clients.
Her own life improved when she married her supportive sweetheart and had four beautiful children with him—three boys and one girl. Lianna is the type of person who will not back down from any reasonable challenge. Her strong will, discipline, and commitment emerged as Lianna successfully competed in the Triathlon while 5 months pregnant with her third child! She credits her husband, as partner and sounding board, for supporting her personal and business accomplishments.
Before Lianna started her business, she assisted two local businesswomen in the pursuit of their own passions. Around the same time, Lianna viewed the movie, “The Secret”, which gave her “goosebumps”. It catalyzed her desire to nurture her own passions in her own business. The sense of accomplishment of creating an event, nourishing it, and watching it flourish, beckoned her. It stirred Lianna’s creative juices and fanned her flames. Lianna was so moved and motivated that within 24 hours, she had secured the author of “The Law of Attraction”, Michael Losier, for a speaking engagement. P3 Events was thus borne.
As with any new business, in the early days, Lianna wore many hats, even as web-designer and “Mother Hen”. Lianna’s sense of humour was evident as she learned the mechanics of website development. Furthermore, Lianna’s nurturing tendencies were well-placed in her royal treatment of her speakers and guests. In her business, Lianna enjoys travelling, meeting various groups, and “feeding off the positivity of others”. Currently, P3 Events is the Corporate Sponsor for the “School’s Out Jamfest” that showcases the talent of 10-to-19 year olds.
Furthermore, Lianna’s civic-mindedness is clearly evident in her desire to raise the profile of Kamloops and to give back to her community by expanding her efforts to the volunteer sector. She is a Corporate Chair for the Kamloops Juvenile Diabetes Walk, PAC Past President, as well as Past-President of the Business and Professional Women’s Association.
Ultimately, P3 Events has raised the profile of Kamloops as a serious venue for amazingly uplifting speakers, such as Jack Canfield (“Chicken Soup for the Soul”), Wayne Lee, and Brenda Eastwood. With the “goosebumps factor” driving Lianna, she truly feels energized and thrilled by her projects as she passionately fulfils them. Lianna’s deep spirituality, open-mindedness, flexibility and ability to keep perspective will assure her continued customer satisfaction and success. Therefore, we can only imagine who will be Lianna’s next speaker as we anticipate additional empassioned projects on the way.
