As a busy mother of four and confirmed ‘mom-preneur’, Olga Cordeiro of Empowerment Coaching Academy knew from a very young age she possessed a knack for numbers. Her favourite toy as a child was an abacus that she spent countless hours playing with; moving the colourful wooden birds back and forth. The birds, long since faded, have been set aside, but Olga’s enthusiasm for what she discovered has not. As a Certified Management Accountant [CMA] and current chair of the CMA Hamilton Sub-committee, Olga takes the term ‘bean-counter’ to heart, adding, “I also, apparently, have excellent communication skills, hence my nickname ‘whole-brain bean counter’.”
Olga’s husband, Joseph, recognized her ‘whole-brain bean-counter’ attributes and steadily encouraged her while on her post-graduate path to accountancy. While Olga pursued an undergraduate degree in Honours Psychology, Joseph complimented her progress, innately understanding that she could combine her left-brain [accountancy] and right-brain [communication] talents before even she became aware of the fact.
Olga’s parents also contributed immensely to the person she is today. Olga says passionately, “My parents were amazing individuals from whom I learned wisdom, courage, open-mindedness, adaptability, flexibility and optimism. Losing them when I was a young adult made me resilient and independent. My mother believed that with negotiation one could set-up win/win situations for both parties and my father believed that with charm many accomplishments were possible. I try to bring these beliefs to everything I do.”
Recounting her parents’ and husband’s sage words inspired Olga to convert her existing accounting business into Empowerment Coaching Academy. Of this time in 2006 Olga states, “I reached a point in my life that I wanted to do something to help people personally in addition to my provision of financial advice on setting up and maintaining their businesses.” Adding, “The Law of Attraction seminar that I attended that year was a catalyst. I felt like my creativity was coming out and realized I didn’t have to be an ‘artist’ to be creative.”
To this end Olga has developed seminars, as well as a variety of learning materials, allowing her to fulfill her commitment to herself and her desire to empower others to gain financial freedom, improved lifestyles and profound happiness. Of her seminars Olga says, “The channels for my empowerment seminars include my tried-and-true PACETM intensive program that is delivered by a number of personally-trained Associate Coaches who each teach a specific component of the program.” The PACETM system consistently aligns the clients’ desires for their businesses and career paths with outcomes they ultimately anticipate.”
A favourite motto of Olga’s is ‘ask for what you want; you will naturally get it’; this is what Empowerment Coaching delivers. With group and individual in-class programs, teleconference, CD, DVD, mp3, print-book and e-book versions of the courses, clients are able to choose their desired level of participation.
Olga’s vision for the future is to assist businesses with their growth as Empowerment Coaching Academy moves forward in achieving recognition as an invaluable source of inspiration and support. Olga states with conviction, “I foresee Empowerment Coaching Academy as a means of empowering business professionals to successfully grow as they learn how to obtain the most satisfaction from any situation in which they may find themselves.”
Olga plans on designing customized training for specific business segments as Empowerment Coaching Academy evolves, saying, “I would like my business name to be on everyone’s lips; to obtain name-brand status in the next ten years as we increase the number of satisfied customers. Most of all, however, I would like to see an empowered population of business professionals living out their dreams and helping their clients in the same way that I helped them.”
