Anita Nairn
MOVING FORWARD
Anita Nairn of Sherwood Park, Alberta was looking for something that would allow her to have freedom and flexibility of her time; to be her own boss not having to answer to someone else’s schedule.

Anita found what she was searching for when her daughter, Shelley, introduced her to Arbonne International in July 2007. Anita was so impressed with the product and the company she decided to become part of the Arbonne team. Anita says, “I admire the honesty and integrity of the company.” Adding, “I enjoy the product, it’s beautiful!”

Anita completed a Nursing Attendant program in 2002 and was chosen from 60 students as Valedictorian. Initially the thought of public speaking made her a bit nervous, but she overcame her concerns and proudly addressed the graduating class with confidence.

Of having been caregiver to an elderly gentleman she says, “I was pretty much my own boss, but I had to be available when his needs arose.

It made timing difficult sometimes because I was often faced with ‘hiccups’ that blocked me from moving ahead with my personal plans and goals.” Anita had faith, though, believing the ‘hiccups’ were there for a reason saying, “I’m taking baby steps on this journey, wherever it’s going. My sincere goal is to have fun in business with Arbonne and the many people I’ll meet along the way.”

It’s not surprising that Anita has faith and is optimistic of her new adventure. She grew up on a farm with 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Anita says, “We worked as a team; I felt protected and comfortable being part of that team.” She adds, “I learned a lot from that environment; being around nature and animals taught me the meaning and value of life.”

The values Anita learned as a child followed her to adulthood, providing her with a strong base for success.

Anita recited a meaningful quote, “Courage is to do everything you want inspite of your fears.” To this end one of Anita’s goals is to go beyond her comfort zone; to create new experiences and challenges and meet them head-on.

In September 2006 Anita stayed true to her desires by climbing Machu Picchu in Peru, hiking and camping for four days. Part of her incredible journey was a night cruise down the Amazon in search of crocodiles. Anita said, “When the lights were flashed on shore you could see the crocodiles bright eyes; in the water all you could see were bright eyes.” When asked if she was nervous she replied calmly, “It was a big boat.”

“I want to gain courage through knowledge; to learn from others,” states Anita. She admits she isn’t a strong self-learner, but loves to learn from those around her.

She says, “I can’t be a teacher when I haven’t gone to kindergarten.” Personal growth and knowledge are very important to Anita. She wants to learn everything about her product [Arbonne] so she can confidently present it to her customers.

Her determination comes through in her voice; there is no doubt Anita will become the teacher and share her passion for Arbonne with like-minded women.

Anita recites another favourite quote, “Quality of life is the most important thing at the end of the day.” When asked how this applies to her life she shared, “Quality of life is to have meaning instead of doing things for no reason.” Anita adds, “I want to look back in a year to see where the baby steps have taken me. I want to live to my full potential. Your prosperity is located within you and is so special, there is never an end.”

Anita enjoys going for hikes, biking, doing Yoga and being ‘Baba’ to her two young grandchildren. The joy in her voice rings clear as she says, “Its fun to be a Baba!” There is certainly a great deal this Baba has to share with her grandchildren, a love of learning, determination and courage are only a few.

Anita passionately states, “If you work with it, work with what you have and not against it you will move forward.” Anita Nairn is definitely moving forward!
