Meet Linda Kool, one of three children, mother to two children and grandmother to four children. She lives in a quiet, small town area near Calgary and currently works for the oil and gas industry.
Linda loves to spend time in her garden, being outside and hanging out with her grandchildren. "They make me laugh. They give me inspiration." Sounds like they are the jewels in Linda's life.
Linda begins to tell me about the company she is planning on working full time for by the end of the year. Latasia, a home based designer, manufacturer and distributor of fine fashion jewelry is new to the Canadian market and will be celebrating their first anniversary this October.
Linda has been involved in a home based business before so she is familiar with the concept but she really liked the Latasia products because they are something new.
I decide to check out the Latasia website. The first thing I noticed were the people that were featured in the photos. They looked like they were having a lot of fun!
A little more snooping around the site and I stumbled upon the jewelry collection that is offered by Latasia. Simple, elegant, refined, current and cool.....Sounds a lot like Linda herself.
I asked Linda why she decided to become a Latasia designer and her answer was quick, easy and honest." I have been in the oil and gas industry for 25 years of my life and was looking for a lifestyle change when Latasia fell into my lap.
I want to become a full-time designer within the year and retire from the corporate world. I want to have a more rounded life and be successful in selling Latasia as a business."Linda continues " I was struck by the beauty of the jewelry - all hand-made from natural gemstones and the quality made it easy to make the decision to join the company."
Linda goes on to further explain that the products do not contain any nickel or lead in consideration of people with allergies: yet another reason to become a salesperson for Latasia.
Linda explained to me that, like other home based businesses, Latasia products are often presented at people's homes at social events. At a Latasia party you can pick out anything that catches your eye and take them home that same evening. Simple, easy and fun!
Linda did a lot of traveling as a young child following her dad around with his work with the RCMP. She moved to Calgary in 1971 and has been there ever since. Linda likes the idea of putting down roots and enjoying her small community. She likes the idea of getting to know people, of stopping to say hello when you pass someone on the street. Sounds like there are many jewels in Linda's life...
Linda also loves to read and her current favourite is The Secret. She loves the energy and the motivation behind the story: the law of attraction and the changes that could occur because of it.
I asked Linda why she joined Roaring Women. "I wanted to meet new people, to tell them about these great products, to grow my business. This is a great venue for my goal of leaving the oil and gas industry by the end of the year." I get a sense from Linda that Latasia won't be a secret for very long if she has anything to do with it.
