Miranda Ings
“We Touch People; We Touch Their Lives”

“The most amazing part of my bio is that I’ve accomplished so much without a University degree” starts Miranda Ings in describing her history that brought her to being the owner of Wellsprings Spa. “And that I’ve done so much before my 25th birthday!”
“A little bit of integrity takes you a long way”.
In only 5 years, Miranda has worked her way from the Hudson’s Bay Company, where she opened the first Home Outfitters in the Kitchener/Waterloo area along with a number of other retail outlets, to President’s Choice Financial, where she once again became a top performer and learned the financial industry, to then being recruited by CIBC for their Business Banking Department, based on her remarkable resume. Miranda has since been recruited by TDCanada Trust where she is currently employed as Manager, Business Banking.
Miranda is a prime example of how women today carry so many responsibilities and wear so many hats from both working in business as well as running their own small business -- as witnessed by the rest of Miranda’s story here.
While still working with CIBC, Miranda learned of the availability of a privately owned spa located in a stately manor in her own area of Cambridge, Ontario.
“It’s a piece of history”, describes Miranda of the 150-year-old Caverhill Manor where Wellsprings Spa is located. “The first mayor of Galt lived there and I’ve been dedicated to preserving the integrity of the mansion by maintaining the architectural details, including the beautiful marble fireplaces”. The 10,000 square foot property is located in the heart of historic town of Galt (now part of Cambridge) and sits on 3 acres of peaceful grounds.
“When I was a child walking to school, I’d pass that house every day and I’d say every day that I’d work there one day”.
Miranda’s childhood dream came true 1 ½ years ago when she bought the property and Wellsprings Spa. The existing spa was experiencing serious difficulty and Miranda “came in with both hands and feet” to restore both the property and the company and make it a premier spa in Cambridge today. “Today, the spa is like a home environment – welcoming to our guests and pampering them with a background of total elegance and peace”.
Miranda manages 12 employees including 10 aestheticians and 1 hair stylist to ensure the high quality of service she promotes.
Miranda is also dedicated to giving back to her community.
She donates used linens from the spa to the local ‘Bridges’ homeless shelter.
Cara’s Hope – a support group for street kids who are either pregnant or have a newborn – “We do makeovers for the girls and we give them a little bit of hope.”
Local Brownie Groups – “We welcome groups of Brownies to visit, to learn about the importance of hand washing and scrupulous cleanliness which gives them their sanitation badges, and then we paint their nails for them – they always choose the brightest red!”
Wellsprings Spa also offers birthday and Princess parties where young girls experience mud baths, the whirlpool and receive a manicure and pedicure. “It’s a great change from Chucky Cheese”.
The Spa’s professional aesthetic services include permanent make-up using a hospital technique of tattooing which can replace eyebrows lost from chemotherapy or can augment areola placement following breast surgery.
The Spa is the only one in the area to offer Infra-red Dry Sauna that is far superior in removing radioactive chemicals remaining in the system because it heats the body from the inside out and accesses the lymphatic system very quickly.
“We focus on restoring a woman’s image AND maintaining her feminine attributes, her femininity”.
“The spa industry is one of only 5 in the world that touches people – doctors, dentists, hair stylists, and the massage industry – so you need a special type of training”. “The human touch connection is being made and that’s a connection you can’t get from any other source”.
Miranda sums up her mission at Wellsprings Spa – “We touch people; we touch their lives”.
