Only minutes into my conversation with Trevor Campbell, M.D., I discovered two things: he is passionate about helping people, and he is aware of how change provides new energy for a more fulfilling life. Perhaps the fact that he immigrated to Canada from South Africa ten years ago to take up practice as a family physician, indicates a relentless need for self-discovery. His patients in the Calgary, Alberta area benefit from more than that - and a warm, friendly South African accent - however.
After 25 years as a general practitioner, with a special interest in Environmental and Occupational Medicine, it is obvious Trevor lives in 'continuous improvement' mode. He has a wide array of interests that continue to enrich both his own perspective and the lives of the people with whom he interacts. He is particularly pleased when he is told that his face seems to say to people invitingly "tell me about it". His work has included extensive counseling: supportive, cognitive-behavioural and motivational.
