After leaving my full time career to follow my passion - with no safety net or income - I realized that I needed to build my business – and fast! Within one year of launching I became known as ‘ubiquitous’ – a word I had to look up in the dictionary before I understood what had been said about me and my business.
Good Marketing Strategies
This of course was as a result of networking extensively – getting out there and creating the illusion that I was everywhere! I also unconsciously learned to become a good marketer without even knowing it.
Many years and several businesses later I realized that in my own way I had mimicked the ‘big guys’ and knew that with very little in the way of budget and talent – that I had created a company that people began to talk about. And when your name is mentioned in business circles – and people begin to talk about you – you will have created ‘the buzz’ that everyone is talking about.
It wasn’t that hard
The funny thing about it was that I did not spend a dime on so called ‘marketing’ but just did the things that I thought would get my name out there and build credibility for my business. And within one year I had built a business that most people were doing part time into a full time business with a residual income too.
Making the connection
Of course getting out there and networking with others – not to get business – but to help connect them to other people helped to build my image. I became the go-to person. If someone needed something – they knew I could likely connect them.
I also attended as many networking meetings as possible in that first year – and met as many people as I could. I wasn’t too focused on selling – but was more focused on meeting people and connecting them to what they needed.
I became an expert
I also made sure to read and learn as much as I could about my industry and to be sure that I had the knowledge I needed – or knew where to put my hands on it. I gave out information freely and tried to help others in my industry as well.
Having started my third business I have found that the steps I took to build that first business were invaluable and I have used them over and over, saving money while building my business like the ‘big guys’. And for almost no money!
Don’t spend one more dime on marketing or advertising!
Anyone can build their business quickly and effectively without spending a pile of money. I did – and now I want to help you do it too.
